About Me

I have been studying and practicing natural barefoot hoof trimming for several years now.  My cousin introduced me to this practice, and have been fascinated with it since.  When she moved up here from California, there wasn't a barefoot trimmer in our area that I knew of.  So, I decided that I would give it a try and just work on mine and hers, maybe a couple of friend's horses.  I NEVER thought I would be doing this for a living! 

We saw a presentation at an event by another trimmer, she mentioned Pete Ramey's book and materials, and that's how it all got started.  I have studied everything Pete Ramey has developed, a little of Jamie Jackson's work, and continue to read information that is out there.

So my own horses turned into a few more, then my full time office job got slow.  Put a couple ads on Craigslist to see what kind of response I would get, and started getting calls.  A few more horses here and there, and started scheduling time out of my office job to trim horses.  

Then I joined the Pacific Hoof Care Practitioners, an awesome group of trimmers and a couple other professionals interested in natural hoofcare.  Their program is a series of steps going through clinics and mentorships with other trimmers, my goal is to graduate from the program.
